May 19, 2008

LBTQ women are at higher risk of uterine, breast, cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers. The following reasons contribute to this risk:

  • LBTQ women have traditionally been less likely to bear children. Hormones released during pregnancy and breastfeeding protect women against breast, endometrial, and ovarian cancers.
