Meem on ILGA Website
The International Lesbian & Gay Association (ILGA) has
sent out an email to all of its contacts introducing
Meem - which was very cool of them! They've also posted
a news item about us
on their website. Meem is a full member of ILGA.

Meem on a Panel in Istanbul
Four Meem members participated in a panel entitled "LGBT
Individuals and Organizations in Muslim Societies" in
Istanbul, Turkey. The panel was organized as part of the
pride week workshops and celebrations. Read the

Meem in Berlin for IGLYO Study
Session
Two Meem members participate in the IGLYO study session
"Empower Thy Peers" in Berlin, Germany in June. They
learned about lobbying and community-building, as well
as sharing Meem's empowerment strategies.

The
Premiere of Tool Omri
The
long-awaited release of the first Egyptian Gay Movie
"Tool Omri" took place to raving reviews at the San
Francisco International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in
June. Meem would like to congratulate Maher Sabry, the
director, on the release of his volunteer-run,
barely-any-budget 5-years-in-the-making historical
movie!
